【摘要】:ThepurposeofthispracticeistobringaboutuniformityofcommercialmoisturestandardsinallASTMspecificationsrelatingtowoolanditsproducts.Thispracticeprovidesarecommendedsinglevalueforastandardizedcommercialmoisturecontentforwoolanditsproducts.Thisavoidsdifficultiesencounteredincalculatingtheamountofmoisture-freefiberpresentinagivenmassofwoolinanyoneoftheformslistedin1.1.1to1.1.8duetotradepracticeswhichrecognizevariouscommercialmoistureallowancevaluesusedbycertainsegmentsofthetrade.(SeeTestMethodD584,Section3.5,TableD1909,NoteE,andtheTablesinPracticeD2720).Therecommendedcommercialmoisturecontentshouldbeusedwhereitisdesirabletoavoidproblemsindeterminingmoisture-freefibercontentwhentheformofthewoolischanged.Forexample:fromscouredwool(12.0%moisturecontent)toworstedyarn,dryspun(13.04%moisturecontent).1.1Thispracticerecommendsthatasinglevaluebeadoptedforthecommercialmoisturecontentofwoolinanyofthefollowingforms:1.1.1Scoured,1.1.2Carbonizedandneutralized,1.1.3Noils,uncarbonized,1.1.4Top,oilordrycombed,1.1.5Yarn,worsted,1.1.6Yarn,woolen,1.1.7Yarn,handknitting,or1.1.8Fabric.1.2LimitationsGreasewool,pulledwool,andwoolwithpHbelow5.0areexcludedfromthispractice.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
